McDonald’s wanted to drive sales of the McTeri Deluxe, a seasonal burger in Hawaii, by promoting a special offer only on the McDonald’s app.

Locals love Hawaii’s limited time menu.

Since the McTeri is a local favorite, we wanted to capture the anticipation of waiting for this seasonal sandwich to finally arrive. And what better way to promote the app than to center our concept around our phones?

SOLUTION_

It’s McTeri Time.

We created a fun, social media-friendly spot that poked fun at our unhealthy obsession with our phones. But it’s not cat videos or TikTok dances that captures everyone’s attention, it’s a countdown to the moment the McTeri Deluxe becomes available at McDonald’s. The surprising spot became a hit and a behind the scenes clip posted to MVNP’s Instagram account went viral, garnering over 12.9 million views, and adding even more value and reach for our McDonald’s of Hawaii client.

RESULTS_

  • Average daily units of the McTeri Deluxe went up 34.8% compared to the prior McTeri promotion.
  • Sales through the app went up 30% compared to the prior McTeri promotion
  • The :15 spot won a 2024 Bronze Telly Award
